The site was first created in Sept of 2008 and contained only 1 calculator, the original Swimming Proficiency (SP) calculator. The calculator at this time was limited to events up to 200 yards and did not require registration.

On March 11, 2010, a formal statistical study validating the SP calculator was published.

On March 23, 2014, a major update of the SP calculator introduced the remaining competitive freestyle distances 400, 500, 800, 1000, 1500, and 1650 as applicable in short course yards (SCY) and meters (SCM) and long course meters (LCM).
Registration still not required. Site visits over the last 5 years averaging over 5000 per month.

On Feb 28, 2015, released new expanded site with the original SP calculator plus concepts for managing swimmers/events, tracking swimmer times and proficiency, and adding 6 more calculators. Requires registration and login, collects swimmer data, all free.

On Feb 16, 2016, completed the Full Potential calculator, replacing the original SP calculator. Completed and launched the streamline, starts, pullouts, and kicking calculators. Improved data entry pages managing swimmers/events/times. Added a full potential demo to the home page. Turned on subscription page.
